Zilla Parishad Primary School, Mayani Koyna, Pen Block, Raigad District, Maharashtra, supported under the Julius Baer CSR Project, secured first rank in Pen Block under the prestigious ‘Chief Minister – My School, Beautiful School Initiative’ and received a grant of INR 3,00,000. The recognition reflects the collective efforts of the school management, teachers, students, and the continued support provided by the Hand in Hand India team. The school, which caters to 46 students from Classes 1 to 7, benefited from comprehensive infrastructure and academic interventions aimed at strengthening the learning environment. These included the installation of a digital smart board, provision of cupboards and library books, indoor and outdoor sports equipment, student benches, an RO drinking water system, and outdoor play equipment. Hygiene awareness sessions, hand wash kits, teacher capacity-building programmes, and the appointment of an additional teacher to support slow learners further contributed to improved learning outcomes. The achievement demonstrates how sustained collaboration and targeted interventions can create meaningful improvements in the quality of education.
