Hand in Hand India Intern

"During my internship, I witnessed firsthand the development challenges facing communities in India and how Hand in Hand tackles them. The most meaningful part was meeting beneficiaries and hearing directly how the interventions impacted their lives."

What do interns do?

Our interns get hands-on experience. Field work helps them understand the challenges faced by the poor and come up with innovative solutions to combat poverty. We work with women and children, and in the health and environment sectors. Choose the field that you’re passionate about, to start with.

How long is the internship?

We offer internships ranging from 1 to 3 months, depending on the project you pick.

Who can apply?

Students from India and abroad, from diverse educational backgrounds, can intern with us.

How can you apply?

Go through our website to understand what we do and narrow down your choices of areas of interest. Send us your resume and a ‘Letter of Intent’ through the form provided.

What is the selection process?

The screening process involves a face-to-face interview if you are based in or near Chennai, and a virtual interview if you are based elsewhere. Once selected, we will need a certificate from your college/institution.

We are happy to take on self-motivated individuals who want to be part of a transformational journey as a volunteer. Follow the same application process explained above, but state your intention of volunteering in the letter.
