Dr S. Balaji


Dr. Balaji brings with him 33 years of service in Indian Forest Service, Government of Tamil Nadu. He retired as Chief Conservator of Forests in 2017.
Dr. S. Balaji holds a Masters in Agriculture Economics from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry (AIFC) from Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

He also holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Bharathiar University Coimbatore where he submitted a thesis on “Impact of Micro finance on Self Help Group Member Households in Gulf of Mannar Region, Tamil Nadu”. His passion to serve the community and to foster economic development through community participation has brought him to the NGO sector.
