Dr Madhu Sharan
Dr Madhu Sharan is a Livelihoods and Gender Specialist with over 15 years of extensive field research and global work experience in promoting economic empowerment of women and inclusive growth of societies.
She has worked as Project Director of SHGs at Hand-in-Hand, India (2004-07) and Executive Director of BALM, Chennai (2007-2010) before shifting to Delhi in 2011, where, she worked as a Consultant with several multilateral and bilateral organizations including The Asian Development Bank, India Resident Mission and GIZ, New Delhi on projects related to financial inclusion, livelihoods promotion and women’s empowerment.
Ms. Sharan re-joined Hand-in-Hand India in August 2013 and is currently working as Vice President, North India where she oversees projects related to SHGs, microfinance, livelihoods, women’s empowerment and commodity development across the States of Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Dr Sharan is a Sociologist, having completed her graduation from Delhi University and her post graduation, M Phil and PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
