Our village now has access to safe drinking water."

At Thidiranagaram in Amaiyappanallur Panchayat in Tamil Nadu, water from the street pipes was not potable and residents refrained from using it for drinking and cooking purposes. The problem was discussed at one of the Health Rights Protection Committee meetings and the HRPC members decided to approach the Panchayat President to address this grievance. Soon, much to the relief of the residents of Thidiranagaram, a 1,000-litre water tank was installed. The potable water from the tank is used by villagers for both drinking and cooking. Thanks to the HRPC members, villagers at Thidiranagaram now have access to safe drinking water.
