I thank HiH India for giving me the right guidance at the right time.”
Twenty three year old Parthasarathi hails from Muniyampatti in Salem district. His father is an agriculture labourer, mother a homemaker and his elder brother a salesman in a private firm. Parthasarathi pursued training in welding in Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in 2014 after which he spent one year as an apprentice in a leading automotive major. He was on the lookout for a suitable placement opportunity but could not find a job relevant to his qualification. Left with no choice, he was forced to join a construction site as a daily wage labourer. It was at this juncture that he met the Sr. Training Coordinator- Youth skill training at Hand in Hand India Salem.
Mr. Ravikumar briefed him on a residential job-oriented training course offered by TVS Community College at Pollachi in the suburbs of Coimbatore. Impressed with the training programme, Mr. Parthasarathi expressed his willingness to enroll for the three month course from October – December 2015. Enrolling for the training programme proved to be the turning point in Parthasarathi’s career. On successful completion of the training, Mr. Parathsarathi has been placed as a two-wheeler service technician at a reputed automobile dealer at Kanchipuram since January 2016 where he is involved in fitting chains, changing the oil, cleaning the carburetor etc. He will be paid a sum of INR 4,000 for the first nine months of employment, after which his pay will increase based on his performance during the nine-month period. “I was struggling to make a career after completing an apprenticeship and was engaged as a daily wage labourer to meet financial needs of my family. The opportunity to join a leading automotive dealer by Hand in Hand India (HiH India) changed my life and I now feel that a bright future lies ahead of me. I thank HiH India for giving me the right guidance at the right time.
