Mr. P. Rajendran has more than 28 years of professional experience in the health & development sectors with core expertise in training, research and project management. Armed with a Ph.D. in Social Science, he started his academic research career at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) and went on to serve institutes of national and international repute, notable among them being Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Family Welfare Training & Research Centre (FWT & RC, Govt. of India), Aravind Eye Care System (AECS), Voluntary Health Services (VHS), Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT), Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) and National AIDS Control Organization (NACO -MOHFW-Govt of India). He has managed national and international health projects in various states of India – USAID, WHO, LCIF, Ford Foundation, GFATM and Govt. of India supported programmes.
He was a consultant at the Hanoi School of Public Health Vietnam to develop a Masters level course on hospital management. He is a member of Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) and the International Epidemiological Association (IEA). He has participated and presented many research papers at various national and global conferences. He was the technical committee member of NACO for developing an Epidemiological Profiling of HIV/AIDS for Indian States by using Data Triangulation Approaches.
