In its efforts to set-up Hand in Hand in Kenya, Hand in Hand has been involved in conducting feasibility studies, model contextualisation, project planning, and documentation for rolling out a project based on the experiences gained in the implementation of the FMO Project in Madhya Pradesh.
Senior officials from Hand in Hand India spent two months in Kenya to contextualise the Hand in Hand India model to suit the Kenyan context. A delegation comprising members from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the National Agriculture and Livestock Extension Programme (NALEP) which is similar or equivalent of NABARD, and an operational team from Kenya visited Hand in Hand India; prior to rolling out the programme in Kenya, an exposure visit was arranged for the delegation to Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.
In February 2013, John Ndungu, Chief Operations Manager, Hand in Hand Kenya, and Stephan, Programme Officer, Hand in Hand Kenya, visited India and underwent a sensitisation training programme.
