Hand in Hand’s partnerships with Government, Corporates, peer NGOs, people, training organisations and so on, are the crux for the successful development of its programmes. Apart from covering more areas and more people in India, Hand in Hand has successfully taken its programmes to countries like Afghanistan, Brazil and South Africa.
After having successfully transferred and adapted its development model to the Brazilian context, Hand Hand endeavours to play a pro-active role in the development of plans for Guatemala and other Central American countries such as Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
In this connection, Hand in Hand India has yet again partnered with Visión Mundial (World Vision) of the Central American countries led by Guatemala. As part of this effort, Mr. Herman Colaj, Project Coordinator, World Vision, Guatemala, visited India between June 26 and July 2, 2011 to gain a comprehensive understanding on Hand in Hand India’s operations with a special focus on self-help groups, microfinance, job creation through small and micro enterprises. He exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding with Hand in Hand India to help mitigate poverty in Central American countries.
