Monitoring & Evaluation is the youngest department in Hand in Hand. It aims to provide leadership to implement professional M&E standard, monitor strategic plan and indicators through a methodological approach, track recommendations, supply evidence-based information for planning and decision making and most importantly to support and coordinate internal and external evaluations. This division keeps improving and evolving through in-house communication, developing professional network which includes mobilising technical resources by convening in-house as well as external sources. The team works to bring reliability and accuracy to data and help to use them for decision making. A framework for M&E is being drafted, which would provide guidelines and standards for implementing M&E activities.

The five parameters which are the main focus of the M&E Department:

  • Relevance
  • Effectiveness
  • Efficiency
  • Impact
  • Sustainability of action

The role of the team in Hand in Hand is to report, to the top management, both successes and failures rather than merely reporting on the progress in meeting targets.
