The first Half-yearly Revolving Awards were announced on October 2011 for those SHG Pillar regions with the best record-keeping and reporting. Sivagangai region (Mr. Joseph Kennedy, Chief Manager & Mr. Jayachandran, Regional Manager) bagged the first place, Thiruvallur - 1 (Mr. Ramesh Kannan, Chief Manager & Mr. Shenbagam, Regional Manager) the second place and Salem region (Mr. Jagannathan, Chief Manager & Mr. Giftson, Regional Manager) the third place.

The Revolving Awards were ideated to motivate the staff towards promoting best practices within the pillar, like achievement of targets, record-keeping and perfection in reporting. The Chief Managers and Regional Managers of each of the 14 regions where the SHG Pillar interventions are taking place were vested with the responsibility of taking this forward. There were seven areas marked for review for the award:

» Regional Manager’s SHG visit
» Skill training
» Register Update
» Family Based Enterprise & Micro Enterprise formation

The initiative was met with a good response and has the regions looking forward to enhancing their performances for the next Half-yearly Revolving Awards by March-April, 2012.
