Hand in Hand India awarded Special Commendation Certificate by NABARD

     Hand in Hand India was awarded the “Special Commendation Certificate” for its pioneering work in the SHG movement by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at its 36th Foundation Day and Silver jubilee function at Chennai.

     Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri Edappadi Palanswami, presented the award to Dr Kalpana Sankar, Chairperson and Managing Trustee, Hand in Hand India and Dr N Jeyaseelan, Group CEO, Hand in Hand India amidst dignitaries from banks, senior government officials and SHG members.

   This is a great recognition for Hand in Hand India India - having enrolled more than 14 lakh women through 1,10,000 Self Help Groups across India and for its support in mobilizing Rs. 625 crores of savings, the building block of sustainability of the SHG movement. Hand in Hand India’s credit linkage and enterprise development support have enabled SHG women have transformed into micro-entrepreneurs and start contributing to the local economy.
